Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was evident from the moment she enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks following her very first tryout. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Her first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 seconds. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix was the youngest world champion in the 200-meter race. The title was upheld at the 2007 World Championships, by beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor at Beijing, London Rio de Jaeiro, and Tokyo. She consistently placed within the top three places of all races.
