Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is a famous Irish actress and model. Following her film debut with a tiny part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to play Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. She remains the youngest Bond girl. In 1987, Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying in which she portrayed IRA members Siobhan Doovan. Doody was a silent actress in the 1987 version to The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream bride Lilias. Her first lead role was in the 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The first time she appeared was in the movie Taffin with Pierce Brosnan. Next, she played the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian archaeologist and Nazi-sympathizer opposite Harrison Ford. Doody has worked with three James Bond actors. Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was in part inspired by The Hitler Diaries publishing scam. Later, she relocated to Hollywood. The choice was made to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal she went on to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery the agent's girlfriend. Doody who was away from acting for almost 10 years, returned in 2003 to take on a tiny role in the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine appeared as her in a scene during the ceremony for awards. In 2004, Doody was in the film in a scene with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody was as a character in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody was part of Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). Later, she guest-starred on RTE's the medical drama The Clinic. She was scheduled to also appear in a remake in 2011 of the classic horror film The Asphyx. However, this project fell through. Pam Jefferson, the character she played in E4's comedy Beaver Falls during its first season that ran for two years. She was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way, a 2014 film. On 21 November 2018 she was awarded by the Almeria the tierra de cine prize as well as an award in the Almeria Walk of Fame.
